1 piece of ancient glass bagged, but otherwise no collections were made. E houses (Level 1) now used as a latrine. N–S stone foundation at W end of E houses has been robbed out. Otherwise, the site is mostly intact. GPS readings taken at STA 1. Excavated by NYU in 1994 and 1995. See site reports for more info.

(10/23/99) Re-visited this site to show Hussein what we did there in 1994 and 1995. To the south, near the main Wadi Hadramawt trunk road, many more houses have been built. Also, agriculture in the immediate vicinity of the site is much more intensive than it was during our excavation. Fortunately, these new fields block vehicular access to the site, and it is substantially unchanged since I visited it last in 1997. However, this site should be monitored during the next few years, because it is our opinion that it is in some peril of being overrun by new construction.
