Notes:
A palimpsest, it is very difficult to determine which characters belong with which words. It’s also difficult to determine the direction in which to read some of the words, since they’re nearly vertical. See drawing D-31 and photographs for illustration. At any rate, the inscriptions seem to primarily be personal names. (See al-Aydarus in Raydan, 2001 for a discussion.)

The individual lines of this inscription, which, I expect, each represent a complete inscription, still must be determined. Upon inspection of the photographs, I have come to believe that the boulder rolled somewhat since the first inscriptions were made. This explains why so many of the larger ones seem to read from upper left to lower right. If so, this might help determine a relative chronology of the inscriptions on this stone.
